Sasha Velour’s Tips For Getting Into Drag 

Drag artist, author and Ru Paul’s Drag Race winner Sasha Velour is this week’s guest on Dua Lipa: At Your Service. Here, she shares her drag culture recommendations. Tune in to her episode – tomorrow Friday, 28 July.   

1. I would recommend my book, The Big Reveal: An Illustrated Manifesto Of Drag. It would be unfortunate not to!

3. There’s so much drag on YouTube. Monica Munro has an amazing lip sync to Shirley Bassey from 1994 that will blow your mind.   
4. Watch Coccinelle perform in Paris in the 1950s – she was a trans drag icon. 
5. There are videos of Divine performing in the ’70s and ’80s and she is screaming at the audience. She’s kind of rude to them, which is a different tradition of drag that I love.
