On her way to the Gold Gala in Los Angeles, Rhea Raj found time to share with us what she’s currently loving in culture – all from the back of a car. It feels fitting, as the Indian-American singer-songwriter is constantly in motion, having emerged as an exciting emerging voice who proudly places her South Asian heritage at the centre of her artistry.
Rhea grew up in a household where music and dance were part of everyday life. Her mother ran a dance school and early influences ran from Britney Spears and Shakira to Bollywood and Bharatanatyam. Her debut album, HUNTER, released in 2024, showcases the fearless creativity and genre-blurring energy that now define her sound.
Music clearly runs in the Raj family, with her younger sister, Lara Raj, a founding member of global girl group Katseye. While the sisters share a passion for performance, their directions are their own.
Rhea is currently working on her second album. In the meantime, her Culture List below dives into everything, from her ultimate comfort food to the fictional world she'd love to live in.
