Thunderbolts*’ Geraldine Viswanathan On Her Dream Picnic Guest List, Creative Rituals & That Rihanna Super Bowl Moment
Disney

Imagine a picnic where the only attendees are Harris Dickinson, Dua Lipa, Gandhi, Princess Diana, Audrey Hepburn and Jess Hayes from Season 1 of Love Island UK – that’s Marvel’s Thunderbolts* star Geraldine Viswanathan’s dream guest list. And honestly, we’d love an invite.

Marvel’s upcoming film Thunderbolts*, directed by Jake Schreier (whose previous work includes Paper Towns and Netflix’s well-loved series Beef), hits cinemas on 1 May (UK) and 2 May (US), and marks Geraldine’s debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She stars as Mel – a new character who joins forces with a team of underdogs from across the franchise, who are grappling with past mistakes... while also trying to save the world. Think: antiheroes, ex-assassins and fallen soldiers, including Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova, Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes and David Harbour’s Red Guardian.

Unlike Marvel’s usual glossy superhero teams, the Thunderbolts are rough around the edges. Packed with explosive action, darker and deeper character arcs and some added sarcasm, this instalment promises a grittier, more complex corner of the MCU world.

To celebrate Thunderbolts* hitting the big screen, we caught up with Geraldine for her ultimate Culture List takeover: from the Rihanna Super Bowl performance she still can’t get over to the book she’s currently obsessed with, the UK summer anthem she’s got on repeat, and her unwavering love for journaling. Hit play below to discover everything the Australian actor is loving right now...
