Dua’s Guide: 5 London Restaurants I Love To Visit During Fashion Week

Another week, another fashion week – after the whirlwind of New York, the next stop for the shows is my hometown of London. Admittedly, it’s never quiet here, but as anyone who’s experienced it during the shows will tell you, the city always comes alive during fashion week.

Whether you’re sat front-row or wandering the streets, you can’t miss the buzz: from the crowds of people dressed up in the wildest clothes to the photographers waiting to capture them – and, of course, the vibe after-dark, when the fashion crowd spills out of the shows and into the city’s best bars, restaurants and clubs to keep the party going.

If you’re in the city and simply looking for recommendations, we have a few guides to help you out, from our team’s tried-and-tested favourite restaurants across London to more local guides by some of our favourite food and drink experts – check out mixologist mastermind Mr Lyan’s list of East London hotspots and chef Mike Davies guide on where to eat, drink and dance in Southeast.

Speaking of which, here’s a few London favourites of my own to add to your list...

1. Canteen – The team behind The Pelican has created the relaxed, old-school charm of a traditional deli in Notting Hill, with fuss-free, delicious food to match.

2. Fonda – If you love Mexican food, you have to try this Mayfair spot, it’s the latest restaurant by Santiago Lastra.

3. Quality Chop House – The hype for this Farringdon spot is well deserved – if you’re a steak lover, it’s unmissable!

4. Ida – A beautifully quaint Italian restaurant in Queen’s Park, the home-cooked-style dishes make you feel like you’re dining in someone’s kitchen.

5. Urchin – OK, this is where I'd normally recommend, but it's moving to a permanent location later this year, which I can't wait for! So, until that reopens, you’ll find them cooking up excellent flavours at Robin’s Ramen in Holland Park – tucked away from all the fashion week chaos!
