Have you felt a shift lately? Since the stroke of midnight on January 1, has life felt... accelerated? That’s not just you. As we surge into the second half of the decade, this restless, often reckless pace is set to become the new normal – and change is ahead. For more than 25 years, we’ve tracked the sky’s patterns as astrologers – and authored more than 20 books – and we’ve named 2026 ‘The Year of the Unbridled Spirit’. It ignites with Lunar New Year on 17 February, when the Year of the Fire Horse replaces the Year of the Snake, unleashing momentum that carries us into 2027 – a clarion call for artists, activists and architects of the future. (Keep reading for a more in-depth analysis of what Lunar New Year is set to bring.)
This year, we’ll all have little choice but to gallop along with the whiplash-inducing ‘progress’ remixing life as we know it. As robots invade creative spaces and guardrails get harder to spot, 2026 hands all of us a mission: How do we show up for ourselves and each other? Where can we add a drop to the buckets of compassion and connection that feel achingly empty?
“We’ve named 2026 ‘The Year of the Unbridled Spirit’. It ignites with Lunar New Year on 17 February, when the Year of the Fire Horse replaces the Year of the Snake, unleashing momentum that carries us into 2027” – The AstroTwins
Belief and conviction will be required in abundance this year. How do you navigate this? That’s where our guide below comes in, first with some planet-setting context and deep dives into four key areas: Success, Love, Activism and Travel (make sure to read until the end for takeaways for each star sign). We strongly encourage people to read this type of horoscope not as a passive bystander, but an engaged participant in crafting the year ahead. Think of it as a forecast, instead of a ‘prediction’. With that in mind, read on to see how this year's cosmic narrative – co-piloted by you – could shape your relationships, career, travels, and your role in making the world a better place.
Firstly, What Makes 2026 So Different From 2025?
The second half of this decade will be sharply different from the first. We’ve got the astrology receipts to prove it for the past five years: from 2020 to 2024, the generation-shaping outer planets cycled through long tours of nostalgic, domestic earth and water signs. Since 2018, revolutionary Uranus shook up security in Taurus, the sign of stability, money and property. In 2026, it moves into tech-forward Gemini, turning its disruptive powers to the media, information and local communities. What does this mean for us? Well, we will need to lean into what we’ve learned over the last 14 years, while Neptune was in the compassionate and reflective realm of Pisces. While this period is ending, the wellness rituals, spiritual practices and a wider faith in humanity we’ve been building must be kept in place to carry us through these upcoming shifts.
On 26 January, Neptune moved into fiery, aggressive Aries. The result? Institutions will begin to crumble, paving the way for rapid-fire futurism, from the AI gold rush to innovations such as flying cars and driverless vehicles, not to mention government and Big Tech surveillance systems being used to track everyday citizens.
This isn’t happening in a vacuum. 2025 acted as a bridge year, with planets swinging back and forth between yin and yang positions – a cosmic tension we captured in our theme, ‘The Year of the Divine Pendulum’. Disruptions and uncertainty rippled through countries, communities and institutions. This was reflected in everything from wars breaking out to global protests and anti-immigration crackdowns – and in countries such as the US, threats to democracy, such as militarised forces being sent into cities. This hectic, heavy energy marked a major pivot from the first half of the 2020s, which we dubbed ‘The Boring Twenties’ – before we knew lockdowns across the globe would make that all too literal.
This year, the pace will only accelerate – and we’ll start to grasp a new narrative, which will be anything but boring. By mid-2026, all the generation-shaping outer planets – Uranus, Neptune and Pluto – will speed out of their longtime earth and air sign placements into hyperkinetic fire and air signs, starting with Uranus moving into Gemini on 25 April (until 2033), Neptune moving into Aries (until 2039), and Pluto now firmly settled into Aquarius until 2044. As if that wasn’t enough, 2026 is also a Universal Year 1 in numerology – the start of a new nine-year cycle demanding courage and initiation after 2025’s year of closure. In other words: get ready for a big new beginning.
The February Pivot: The Year Of The Fire Horse, A Solar Eclipse and ‘The Great Reset’
Although 2026 has already been chaotic, this new direction really takes root on 17 February, when a solar (new moon) eclipse arrives in humanitarian, collaborative Aquarius, delivering a message of freedom and a push toward coalition. Overhead, this ‘ring of fire’ eclipse is a stunning spectacle. As the moon drifts in front of the sun and darkens it from our view, a blazing halo of light will flare around its edges.

Fittingly, this eclipse ushers in the Lunar Year of the Fire Horse, an emblem of unstoppable independence and rebellion. The last time this fiery creature galloped through the heavens was in 1966 – a peak year for counterculture, civil rights and the arts. In global politics, 1966 brought everything from India’s first woman prime minister, Indira Gandhi, to the formation of the revolutionary Black Panther party. While in culture, the Beatles released their groundbreaking album Revolver. Swept up in the Fire Horse’s rebel spirit, John Lennon declared the group “more popular than Jesus”, sparking a controversy in the Bible Belt that included cancelled tours, incited protests and saw some fans burning their records.
In 2026, this same untamed force is back, urging us to live boldly and break free from anything that reins us in. Our take on this? Saddle up, put safety protocols in place and run with it – just don’t trample anyone in your stampede...
Next, Comes The Great Reset: Saturn & Neptune Meet At The ‘Aries Point’ For The First Time In 2,000 Years
You’ll barely have the time for a post-eclipse (metaphorical) cigarette before 20 February rolls in with another epochal reset. For the first time in more than 2,000 years, structured Saturn and imaginative Neptune unite at 0º Aries, the very first degree of the zodiac, adding to 2026’s wildly unscripted energy. The Saturn-Neptune conjunction (astro-speak for ‘meet-up’) presents a paradox because Saturn rules the material plane and Neptune governs the esoteric realm, so we’ll want to build structures and tear them down all at once.
The Saturn-Neptune meet-up will inspire people to fight for institutions and leaders that are both accountable and compassionate. In astrology, Saturn represents structure, rules and authority, while Neptune embodies empathy, imagination and ideals. When these two planets join forces, we’re likely to see the start of a longer movement to create systems and laws that are inclusive and guided by heart as well as logic. Could this be the year that spirituality and higher consciousness start to shape everyday life in tangible ways – when the practical, ‘earthly’ world (3D) and the intuitive, imaginative realm (5D) begin to colour outside the lines together? We shall see. With both Saturn and Neptune in Aries until 2028, this influence will unfold gradually over the next couple of years, giving us time to make a lasting impact.
And, Finally, Human Design Wraps Up A 412-year Cycle
We won’t go too far down this rabbit hole (yet!), but if you follow Human Design – a holistic system that fuses astrology, the I Ching, Kabbalah, chakras and quantum physics, with the aim of guiding you to your true purpose – you may have heard about ‘the shift’ of 2027. Human Design divides history into approximately 410-year cycles, which shape our collective priorities and ‘assignment’ as humans.
On 15 February 2027, we’ll officially wrap ‘The Planning Era’, a 412-year cycle that began in 1615. This era has been characterised by a focus on infrastructures and institutions, from the establishment of nations to industrial and technological developments of the modern day, during which humans learned to compromise our individuality for the greater good.

Next year, we’ll shift to a new 400-plus year phase called ‘The Sleeping Phoenix Era’ (a nod to the Human Design name that speaks to the awakening of the individual and the symbolic phoenix that rises from the ashes of destruction left behind by the Planning Era), which will be radically different. Individual expression will be prized, and relationships (of all types) will be marked by choice, not contracts or duty.
Expect more communal living, flexible relationship models and workplaces that are less formal and less tied to offices. We’ve already had a preview of this shift over the past few years: the rise in ‘grey divorces’ and the polarisation between the ‘tradwife’ trend and people rejecting or reinventing traditional relationship, parenting and gender norms. In 2026, this transition will accelerate, guided by the energies of the Fire Horse and the numerology of a Universal Year 1, with self-sovereignty and personal freedom taking centre stage.
Here’s how we think this will all play out in four key areas of life...
Success & Career In 2026: Goodbye To Hustle Culture & Hello To Genuine Connection
In 2026, our definition of ‘success’ will be sharply redefined. On 25 April, innovative and tech-forward Uranus careens into Gemini, the sign of communication, data and information, staying until 2033. Just like Uranus’ last tour of Gemini from 1941-49, this will bring a seismic shift in how we live, learn and earn. As the AI bubble expands, entire industries will continue to pivot toward robotics and advanced technology.
Cities and micro communities may spring up, operating like cooperatives and living expenses may be covered in exchange for services. While this model won’t work for everyone, it may become a necessity – and a welcome relief from the endless grind – for people who crave connection and are tired of being overworked and underpaid. Hustle culture will be in the rearview for many, but human beings need a sense of purpose. In the second half of the decade, we may find it in surprising ways. Expect a movement toward hands-on creation and skilled craftsmanship, and with Saturn and Neptune in Aries, more physical work as well.
The desire to feel the impact of what we do will not be destroyed by an algorithm. Careers that offer human connection, such as healthcare, therapy, teaching and, yes, entertainment, will flourish, especially in the second half of 2026. Once abundant Jupiter sweeps into playful, expressive Leo for a year on 30 June, there could be a renaissance in the arts. And as the karmic North Node, a point tied to collective growth and purpose, enters Aquarius on 26 July 2026 (staying until 26 March 2028), resistance music, visionary art and other creative expressions that connect people across borders may boom.
But the real sweet spot in 2026 lies between digital innovation and human authenticity. How can we use technology to amplify spirit, instead of erasing it? As the world of work shapeshifts around us, our job is to stay curious, flexible and fiercely human.
Love & Relationships in 2026: Self-Awareness Meets A Digital Evolution
When it comes to what 2026 has in store for love and relationships, it all starts with the self. With Saturn and Neptune meeting in indie-spirited Aries, we’re all being called to strengthen our inner bonds. Bottom line: we must deeply understand ourselves before we merge with anyone else.
After 25 April, Uranus in Gemini electrifies the dating scene, revving up digital romance and maybe even blurring the lines between human and AI affection. (Ah, love in the age of algorithms.)
No matter what your relationship status, 2026 is a year to dissolve old illusions about love and rebuild from a place of authenticity. In the first half of the year, Jupiter in security-seeking Cancer favours privacy and emotional safety. But once Jupiter sashays into flamboyant Leo on 30 June, trailed by the karmic South Node in Leo after 26 July (which highlights patterns and habits in love that we’re meant to confront), romance heats up, bringing passion and the opportunity for deep growth. Relationships could feel fated, pushing us to face our shadows and evolve.
Autumn’s usual cuffing season gets a six-week interruption from 3 October to 13 November, when love planet Venus makes its once-every-18-months retrograde (a time when a planet appears from our earthly vantage to go ‘backwards’, turning our attention to the past, or problems we’ve overlooked). As the cosmic coquette then reverses through smouldering Scorpio and lovebug Libra, two of the most relationship-oriented signs of the zodiac, we’re urged to confront jealousy, revisit old flames and rewrite our relationship scripts.

Activism In 2026: How We Can Make Things Better On This Planet
Activism in 2026 is anything but quiet. With Saturn and Neptune heading into Aries by mid-February, the sign of the warrior and pioneer, the skies unleash a wave of renegade spirit. Unlike in 2025, when many of us felt helpless and hopeless, 2026 could see more citizens feeling bold, unapologetic, and ready to fight for what matters. This year calls us to live as if the future we dream of already exists, and to build it together.
The Aquarius solar eclipse on 17 February also ignites collective awareness, inspiring humanitarian movements that put community before ego, which is likely to bring many more protests and citizens uniting in underground activist networks, especially those living with increasingly authoritarian leadership or threats to democracy. Venus retrograde, from 3 October to 13 November, could reignite the fight for reproductive freedom and marriage equality, especially as governments strip people of these liberties, since Scorpio rules the reproductive system and Libra rules marriage and contracts.
In the first half of the year, Jupiter in Cancer will specifically turn our attention toward caring for families, women and children. As the lunar nodes shift into Aquarius and Leo on 26 July, they shine a spotlight on growth and challenge, giving politics and leadership a fresh urgency. New voices rise up and grassroots leaders emerge, calling for unity and authenticity over theatrics. But with so much fire in the heavens, the potential for hot-headed reactions and radical extremes is real. The key will be to turn outrage into organisation, to root action in compassion and ensure that rebellion is guided by vision.
Travel In 2026: Finding Home, Seeking Connection & Navigating Tensions
With Jupiter, the planet of expansion and exploration, anchored in home-focused Cancer until 30 June, the comfort of familiar places will pull us in. While local adventures could take precedence over far-flung escapes, this is a peak time to visit your ancestral homeland or reconnect with relatives living around the planet.
There’s another plot twist to contend with, though. Global tensions and tightening borders are sadly reshaping how people move across the map, and we may feel this increasingly in 2026. Black Moon Lilith is in Sagittarius – the sign of travel and worldview – until 14 September. As a result, the shadow side of xenophobia and fear of the ‘other’ may surface more visibly.
Yet even as these divisions play out, the skies call for a mid-year reconnection to our ‘global family’. When the North Node (almost like a compass pointing forward) enters Aquarius on 26 July, curiosity and collaboration will begin to override suspicion. Aquarius rules humanity itself, reminding us that exploration is both geographical and relational. Shared experiences and cross-cultural exchanges again become the bridges we need most. After Jupiter strides into Leo in on 30 June, optimism is set to return, encouraging us to journey with open hearts again.

Words Of Cosmic Wisdom: How Each Sign Should Navigate 2026
We’re often asked: When does it get better? In short: it happens when we choose connection over division. As 2026 reshapes how we relate – to ourselves and each other – we’re all invited to play a part. Here’s what the year has in store for you, according to you sign.
Aries: Go Slow To Go Fast
Shift away from doing too much and commit to what truly matters. While you love novelty, find something you truly love and stick with it.
Taurus: Stabilise To Monetise
Rebuild stability without losing your edge – this is your year to become less scattered and build a sturdy foundation.
Gemini: Take The Unexplored Route
Let your curiosity be your compass. Your original ideas might raise eyebrows now, but by the end of 2026, the world will start to catch up.
Cancer: Say Yes To Your Wildest Dreams
Expand your comfort zone as wide as you can (actually, wider!). Your confidence will grow the more you come out of your shell and let others witness your gifts.
Leo: Embrace A Full Fresh Start
The first half of 2026 is better spent backstage, on a celestial sabbatical as you reboot your energy. Then, prepare for a curtains-up grand debut when lucky, expansive Jupiter enters Leo on June 30!
Virgo: Let The Moment Guide You
You’re in metamorphosis mode for one more year, but trust us, it will be worth it. Spend time soul-searching and release outdated roles. Then, prepare for a major restart mid-2027.
Libra: Lead With Grace & Vision
You’re the inspiring leader everyone wants to follow. Elevate your public presence and reach a wider network with your message. Make sure your actions align with your words.
Scorpio: Say Yes To New Adventures
Ground yourself with reliable routines and habits, but have some adventures, too! Put systems in place to scale your success and you’ll reclaim lots of time to play.
Sagittarius: Step Into The Creative Spotlight
The spotlight is looking for you and while shine on your truest talents. For best results, avoid FOMO- fuelled detours and work on clarifying your message.
Capricorn: Go ‘All In’ With Loyal Partners
Multiply your reach with the right allies. Instead of playing provider and holding up the world on your shoulders, curate an inner circle of people you respect and trust.
Aquarius: Champion Your Unique Ideas
Bet on your unique form of genius! We need you to lead us into the Age of Aquarius. Later this year, you’ll do that with a trusty partner by your side.
Pisces: Leave Struggle In The Rearview
