Having a great non-alcoholic cocktail option is always a great idea when hosting. Make it delicious enough and even the most committed drinkers will be keen to try it. Anna Walsh, drinks creator at The Virgin Mary Collective (a group of alcohol-free bars which originated in Dublin), shares a recipe for The Fridge Fizz, an easy pre-dinner cocktail you can shake up at home to impress your guests.
“I created The Fridge Fizz for the opening of TVM’s first ever live-music venue, TVM at The Fridge in Dubai,” says Walsh. “This ‘at-home’ version of the recipe beautifully combines aromatic notes of habaq and dark caramel with the sweetness of honey and a fresh burst of lime. It’s the perfect crisp and elegant non-alcoholic cocktail to impress your party guests, without the hangover.”
The Fridge Fizz (serves 1)
Ingredients
30ml Lyre’s Dark Cane non-alcoholic spirit
20ml honey syrup (made from 1 part honey + 1 part water)
20ml lime juice

Vintense alcohol-free sparkling white wine, to top
Equipment
Cocktail shaker
Fine strainer
Coupe glass – pop in the freezer for at least an hour before serving
Method
- Half fill the cocktail shaker with ice, then add all the ingredients except the Vintense and shake vigorously.
- Using the fine strainer, pour the cocktail into the frozen coupe glass.
- Top up with the Vintense.
