Being a woman in the music industry – a man’s game still, undeniably so – never gets easier. But misogyny has always  been a wearisome cornerstone of hip-hop, writes kathy iandoli in this, Service95’s second-ever issue takeover. With Megan Thee Stallion as this week’s At Your Service  podcast guest, there’s never been a better time to unpack the difficulties and  plot the bright futures of women across all genres grinding against decades-old mechanisms put in place to keep us down. Though it’s heartening to see society undergo a much-needed attitude shift towards female power, we still have plenty of work left to do. I think reading this week’s issue might just get us that much closer.
